Field of Screams, America’s #1 haunted attraction, held their 10th annual Battle of the Bands contest a couple of weeks ago. This year I was asked to help judge along with Marlee Watts and Leah Tyler of Y102. There were five bands competing this year; Able Moving Hearts, Ghost of War, Scout’s Honor, People in Other People’s Places, and Broken Fayth.
Along with judging, I got to take tons of photos. It was extremely challenging trying to take photos at night of bands moving around while people are running around you being chased by chainsaw wielding zombies. All the bands were great. The top three gets to be on Homebrewed, Y102’s local band segment every Sunday from 11pm to Midnight.
In third place was Able Moving Hearts.
In 2nd place by the narrowest of margins was Ghost of War
And the winners were Broken Fayth
And not to be left out, here are the other two bands People in Other People’s Places and Scout’s Honor as well as some random views from Field of Screams
The Pagoda City Tattoo Fest is a new show to Reading/Berks County, Pennsylvania area, and is hosted by home town artists Joe Johns of Wizards World of Tattoos and Justin Weatherholtz (formely of Wizards World) of Kings Avenue Tattoo in NYC. The show brings some of the best and most reputable names in the industry, as well as local talent to showcase their artistry.
The Pagoda City Tattoo Fest is the perfect place to get a new tattoo while discovering new artistic talent. Leah Tyler (of Y102) was invited to get a tattoo while promoting the convention on-air, and Umbrella was there to capture it.
Leah decided to get the mask she wore at our masquerade themed wedding reception on her back right shoulder. She was lucky enough to have the very talented Nate Hoover as her tattoo artist. Here are the pics.
Since the tattoo turned out so great, Leah entered Nate’s work in the “Tattoo of the Day” contest. Unfortunately it didn’t win, but we decided that it was the unofficial runner-up.

Umbrella Photo had the pleasure of taking some engagement photos of the happy couple Evan and Nicole a couple weeks ago in anticipation for their summer wedding this year. The couple wanted to try something different, incorporating their dogs and baseball into their engagement session.
This led to a pretty difficult engagement session… not from the couple themselves, but their themes they chose to go with. Having three dogs between Umbrella Photo (Steve has one and Jessie has two), we have gone through tons of trial and error with the turnover rates of dog photos being pretty slim. Also, who takes baseball themed photos in the middle of winter? The baseball fields look pretty rough in the winter, not to mention it was 30-40 degrees farenheit out with 10-20 mph winds!
All in all, I think the engagement session turned out great, plenty of good photos of the happy couple! Here are a couple of them, and follow the link on our facebook page for the rest of the photos.
